A Bittersweet Mother’s Day

Happy Mother's Day.jpeg

Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers, step-mothers, adoptive mothers, those who have lost a baby, those who wait for their turn and those who act as stand in mothers on a daily basis.

Thank you for your selflessness, your patience, love and attentive care. You are phenomenal! I hope you feel special today and always. May you enjoy a blessed and happy day from me and my family.

This Mother’s Day is a bittersweet one for me as it is the first one that I’m spending away from my mother, especially since she needs me at this time. I’ve been sifting through my comments slowly and I will answer yours shortly. I’m feeling a bit delicate at this time as I found out that my father has had a heart attack earlier this week (he is currently recovering in hospital). I’m unable to travel back home to be with them and it’s devastating that my mother has to go through this alone. I felt scattered and unwell today, but the love of my husband and son helped. We had a lovely lunch that I will cover on Travel Tuesday, so look out for that post.

How did you spend your Mother’s Day? Let me know by commenting below!

  1. Awww… Sorry to read about your Dad, I litterally just hit the “send” button to share my thoughts about my own mom being away, when I saw this new post. Sending you warm thoughts, I hope your Dad will recover quickly… *big hugs, Lindsay!!*

    1. Thank you Tre. I always appreciate you taking the time to read my blog. It seems like he is on the mend now. He has a good team of doctors this time around. I hope he recovers quickly.

I am so sorry about your dad, and hope and pray that he recovers soon. I pray that your mom has strength to help her through all this. It must be tough, and I do understand. Hugs my friend. ❤
