Your reader has just peeled over your funny or helpful blog post and they want to know more about the amazing writer behind the post, but you have a vague or non-existent about me page. They leave your blog feeling deflated and probably won’t visit it again. I’m here to change all of that for you and your reader in this short, but impactful post on how to create the perfect About Me page that you and your reader will love.
Here’s my formula to About Me page success:
Download this free questionnaire Questions To Answer Before Writing Your About Me Page.
Attention:
Grab your reader’s attention with a short, punchy headline that makes them want to continue reading your page.
Interest:
Hone their interest by telling your reader who you are and where you come from.
Write a brief synopsis of your career or what you do, your relevant qualifications and how you got to the point of starting this blog.
Tell your readers what you believe in and what you stand for.
Add beautiful photos or interesting videos.
Share personal titbits or fun facts.
Desire:
Tell your readers how you are going to solve their problems, make their lives easier or add value to their lives if they continue to visit your blog.
Add links to your favourite/most helpful/ popular posts so they can read more of your work.
Action:
Remind your readers to sign up to your newsletter or subscribe/ follow your blog.
Add links to your social media.
Ask them to buy one of your products if you are selling anything on your blog.
Encourage them to comment or like your blog posts.
Additional Tips:
Be authentic
Write as you speak
Keep your About Me page as short and simple as possible
Double check for spelling and grammatical errors
Feel free to freshen up your About Me page as often as necessary
I wish you all the success with your blog. Are you participating in the A to Z challenge this year? What else would you include in your about me page? Let me know by commenting below!

Thanks. I’m enjoying your A to Z posts so far. How do you connect with others who are participating? I’m finding it really difficult without the list.

Thank you 🙂
After adding my comment to the day’s letter, I look at the others and pick whatever interests me. Also, I check my Reader for AtoZ posts. Checking the Twitter feed for #AtoZChallenge also helps.

Thanks so much. I’ve been following them on Facebook, but haven’t had much luck. I will try a Reader and Twitter search. How do you add your comment to the letter of the day?

You need to log into your Google account (easy to set up and free, usually it just involves setting up a Gmail account) then go to the AtoZ blog, click on the letter of the day (it’s usually the top post on the home page) then comment (short description of post with the url – there is a tutorial to make a clickable link, if you prefer).
It’s a lot of work, but once it’s set up you can comment on all BlogSpot/Blogger blogs. There’s a tutorial to set up a signature with your blog’s url at the end of all comments you leave on BlogSpot/Blogger blogs so people can easily click back to you. Or you can set up a Google+ page, publicise all your blogposts there (good for SEO) and use your Google+ profile to comment everywhere. (That’s what I do.)
Good luck 🙂
